The "FIRST" Tree

No, this isn't the first year that we have put up a tree, but a few years ago when we did put this tree up as our first Christmas tree, we decided that we would always put it up and decorate it the same way that we have since our first Christmas together. One day I would love to have a different themed Christmas tree in every room of the house, and the First tree will be there somewhere. Besides being our first actual tree, all of the ornaments are a "First" milestone too. We have 1st Christmas together, 1st jobs, 1st house, etc. and this is the new first that was added this year.... First pregnancy. (thanks mom). Tonight we put on Christmas music and decorated the tree together, then sipped hot chocolate and ate cinnamon crumb cake in our fluffy white robes as we admired our work. I love this time of year!

What a fun tradition. That ornament is AWESOME. How did she get that? Tia probably made it. I love it.
Happy Holidays!

I remember when I "first" saw your first tree. I thought it was a very clever idea. So as not to copy you guys, we created a "second" tree... ;) You know, second kid, second christmas, second job. Totally original I swear.

How cute, and just think, next year you can add lots of firsts like, first broken ornament, first time the tree almost killed someone, first time mom swore on Christmas day!!!! J/k, sort of.

Hi Em! I love the ornament. Here's the link to the blog that tells you how to make your blog cute. http://sjhblogdesign.blogspot.com/
The best thing is, it doesn't delete everything you've put on the side!

Next year you can add baby's first christmas. And get your second tree. One that has no ornaments on the bottom half!! If you're looking for a fun christmas project, I like making and looking for childproof ornaments. I also am starting a fun tradition of buying Carly an ornament every year so when she gets married she'll have some for her tree that have meaning.

I had to laugh at the robe/sipping hot cocoa and crumb cake...don't expect that next year!!! Steve and I were in a rush to get the tree totally decorated for Trent's brithday the next day...we were exhausted and didn't get to emjoy it quite as much! You look soooo good and I miss being in Utah after seeing all those pictures. Can't wait to hear the good news that he has arrived!!!

your tree is beautiful! have you noticed any difference being preggers during the holidays? When I was pregant during the holidays I always went more crazy tring to get things decorated and all the presents purchased in october and christmas cards finished before thanksgiving (even though I didn't mail them till later.) You have the cutest little tummy! hope that you are feeling ok...hang in there! these last couple weeks go so slow!!!
